ABOUT MATT

Matt has worked with dealerships for nearly two decades, but his connection to the automotive industry began long before that. In 1989, his father became part-owner of a Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealership in Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Matt quickly became involved—cutting grass, washing cars, and learning the business from the ground up. As the dealership expanded to include Ford Lincoln Mercury, he gained experience across multiple areas of dealership operations. Growing up in the industry gave Matt a deep appreciation for dealers, their employees, and the importance of delivering an exceptional customer experience.

After earning a degree in Finance from Auburn University, Matt obtained his Series 6 and 63 licenses, along with life, accident, health, property, and casualty insurance licenses. He spent several years in insurance sales before joining Assurant in 2005, where he combined his insurance expertise with his lifelong automotive background. Throughout his career, Matt has worked with automotive, recreational vehicle, and powersports dealerships across territories ranging from New Mexico to South Florida, serving both family-owned businesses and large corporate groups.

Matt lives in Birmingham with his wife, Sara Ellen. Their three children are now young adults pursuing careers and education in college and welding trades. Matt is a member of Cahaba Park Church and enjoys visiting National Parks with his family and taking their dog for rides in his grandfather’s 1983 Ford F-100.

ABOUT MATT

Matt has been working with dealerships for almost two decades, but has been immersed in the car industry since 1989 when his dad became part-owner of a Chrysler Plymouth Dodge dealership in Brookhaven, MS. During his dad’s first week at the dealership, Matt was already involved by cutting the grass and washing cars. Over the next few years, Allbritton-Sullivan Motors added Ford Lincoln Mercury and Matt worked in various areas of the dealership. Growing up in the car industry gave Matt a heart for dealers and the employees that represent the dealerships. At the same time, he learned the importance of keeping customers happy.

After graduating in finance from Auburn University, Matt acquired his series 6 and 63, life, accident, health and property and casualty licenses. He sold insurance for 3.5 years before joining Assurant in 2005. Matt’s job at Assurant allowed him to combine his insurance knowledge and background experience in the vehicle industry. Covering areas from New Mexico to South Florida, he represented automotive, recreational vehicles, and power sport dealerships. Today, the dealerships in Matt’s book of business range from family-owned to corporate.

Matt currently resides in Birmingham, AL with his wife and their three teenagers. He is a member of Cahaba Park Church and enjoys visiting National Parks with his family and taking the family dog for rides in his Granddad’s 1983 F100.
